Apple's new super-thin laptop

So the (mac)rumors were right… At Mac World, Apple presented the — and I’m now quoting good old Steve — thinnest notebook ever. Oh, he also announced the possibility to download full movies via iTunes, but hey — you knew that already no 🙂 ?

Update 23/01:

Update: The very first Apple Air commercial

Thin !
The new Macbook “Air” is really thin: between 1,9 and 0,4 cm. It weighs a stunning 1,5 kilograms and has a 13,3-inch wide screen with LED-backlight and a nice big keyboard (also backlit)

Touch !

The notebook has the biggest touchpad ever, and it became clear immediately that it is used for — remember iPhone ? — the new multi-touch functionality such as enlarging pictures…

Under the covers

The machine is equipped with 2Gb RAM and an intel 1.6 GHZ Core 2 Duo processor (possible to upgrade to an 1.8 Ghz model). Amazingly, the battery is supposed to last for 5 hours.

So, what’s the catch ? There’s no DVD player. But hey, that’s OK if you planning to buy one for me — I promise not to whine :o). FYI: Apple provides “RemoteDisc” technology to make up for it…

In about two weeks from now, the “Air” will be on sale (in the US first 😦 ) for about 1.200 EUR…
