To be honest, I tried to do so

I was able to download the installer just fine, but since I’m stuck behind a company firewall, the installer can’t get  to the actual installer .exe file.

The problem is that the downloader doesn’t know how to handle the proxy password prompt…

So, If your still interested to play with Google’s new toy (and don’t mind the security and stability issues (hover over on this link with Chrome) :o), you just have to go and get Chrome yourself at

(mind you, this seems to be version 149.27 !)

Oh, did you know that Google created a comic book especially for the lauch of Chrome ? Now you do.

So, what exactly is Chrome ? The software itself allows a peak at it’s intestines when you open the “About” window:

Official Build 1583
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/ Safari/525.13

As you can see, Chrome contains parts of Mozilla and webkit.
